The Montreal Black Watch Association Pipes and Drums was launched in 2010 as a result of both the success of the Black Watch School of Piping and Drumming and interest from members of the Black Watch (RHR) of Canada in building a civilian band. The band includes both members of the School, former members of the Regimental Pipes and Drums and other experienced musicians. Under the direction of Pipe Major Brian MacKenzie and Drum Major Robert Labreche the Association band has performed at events such as the Jazz Festival, Scottish Festivals in Quebec, the Montreal St. Patricks parade and most recently performed at Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh Castle, Fort George and competed at the World’s competiton in Glasgow in 2016.
