Sonido Pesao is an original urban Latin group based in Montreal, Quebec. Their compositions mix energetically urban music, rap, cumbia and electronic music. The group was born in 2006 and previously named Heavy Soundz, assumes its Hispanic identity by having translated its name. Since the release of their album “Tumba Parlantes” in 2011, they have travelled across Canada, spreading their love of cultures and their contagious joie de vivre. They have participated in several festivals such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Festival of African Nights, the Pan American Games, the Gaspé Bout du Monde Music Festival, the CAM tour (2017-2018) and others. Winners of the 2012 Sily d’or Contest, and winners of the 2016-2017 Diversity Award, they offer a bubbling show and release their new album on August 14th 2020.
