A performance of “Nueva Trova”, a style of Cuban song that distinguishes itself from traditional Cuban dance music by incorporating elements of modernity. His music retains the characteristic instruments of Afro-Cuban music (congas, batas and other Latin percussion instruments), while incorporating concepts specific to Jazz (sophisticated harmony, improvisation, more complex forms).
