Music workshops, songwriting,dance activities, culinary workshops and trying out musical instruments – there’s something for everyone!

NEW THIS YEAR: L’ESPACE ZEN!

In this area, you’ll be able to participate in several activities of Asian origin, such as a manga drawing workshop, an origami workshop and an introduction to Pekeng Opera. There will also be music performances and traditional tea ceremonies.

CARREFOUR MULTICULTUREL LOTO-QUÉBEC

In this zone you’ll be able to try out a number of instruments such as the handpan with Robert Daignault, Japanese drums with Arashi Daiko and the didgeridoo with Pierre-Olivier Bolduc.

Many artists will also be offering music workshops such as Māmā Mihirangi & the Mareikura who will be demonstrating the haka (Māori ritual dance), Mamselle Ruiz and Marco Calliari who will open up to us about their career paths (and invite your to sing!), Jing Xia, who will be showing us what Chinese guzheng music is, and many more!

PRÉAU

Under the Préau (permanent marquee structure), you can take part in an international folk-dance workshop with Les Pieds de Velours and two culinary workshops – make Argentinian empanadas with Tango Soul and Moroccan malawi with Fatima Zohra.

ESPACE LITTÉRAIRE

We’re happy to share that our literary corner is finally back! Félix Morin will host 4 interviews with some well-known writers including Nicholas Dawson, Léa Murat-Ingles and Mélikah Abdelmoumen. Frank Poule will be running writing workshops.

CHAPITEAU RIVIÈRES DE LUMIÈRES

Under the theme of phantasmagorical plants, the Théâtre des Petites Lanternes is back with its lantern-making workshops. Fun for all ages!

WAPIKONI MOBILE

Wapikoni Mobile will be showing several short film screenings of Atikamekw origin.

TICKETS 

Buy the passport to enjoy the 5 days of festivities. They can be bought in advance at the promotional rate of $25 until the 21st of July (regular rate from 22nd of July-  $30).

Daily admission to the FTMS costs $14. Free for children aged 14 and under.
