Come and meet the photographer Hamed Tabein in a friendly atmosphere during the opening | 5 to 7 of the Smile of Afghanistan photo exhibition. You will be able to exchange with the artist at the origin of this striking expo documentary while discovering its magnificent shots.

Biography of the photographer : 
Hamed Tabein is an Iranian street photographer based in Montreal, but whose work traverses both Canadian urban topography and the diverse landscapes of Iran, India, Syria, Lebanon, and Afghanistan. His project, Smile of Afghanistan, compiled from his travels to Afghanistan in 2013 and 2017, provides an unsentimental but profoundly empathetic look into the lives of Afghan people. In direct antithesis to the photojournalistic images showing poverty and war that so frequently flood Western screens, Tabein sought instead to capture the colour and positivity of the Afghan experience.

 

This opening takes place at the Espace Orient.
