Jeremy Dutcher is classically trained tenor who blend their formation with their Wolastoq heritage, creating a unique sound and music in between, classical, pop, jazz and traditional music. Dutcher’s first record, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, focus on rearrangement of wax cylinder recordings from his community done in 1907 “… If you loose the language, you’re losing a unique way of being in the world. ”

This unique evening event also includes a performance by Natasha Kanapé Fontaine. An author, poet and actress from the Innu community of Pessamit, she will present a “spoken word” composition between Jeremy’s songs. “Spoken word” is the art of forcefully and emotively reciting a text, often in combination with music or visual arts.
Ivanie Aubin-Malo, dancer and choreographer, will also dance.
