Waahli is a Montreal-based artist of Haitian origin who blends hip-hop, afrobeat, reggae, and Haitian funk into a unique musical approach deeply rooted in his heritage. A co-founder of the iconic group Nomadic Massive in 2004, he has also built a compelling solo career with works like Black Soap (2018), Soap Box (2022), and Saponification (2023), performed in English, French, and Haitian Creole. His music explores themes of identity, solidarity, and self-reflection.
Recognized for his originality, Waahli was named a Radio-Canada Revelation for 2023-2024. In 2024, he garnered prestigious nominations, including Best Album of the Year – Multilingual and Other Languages at the Gala de l’ADISQ, and World Music Album of the Year at the Juno Awards. In 2025, Waahli continues to push artistic boundaries with Seven Bubbles, an ambitious project exploring new aesthetic and sonic horizons.
